How to use a simple location for cases
10/15/07 at 01:24:47

From David

Q: I store wine in racks, but don't care about the exact location.  I
label my racks "R-1", "R-2", "R-3", etc.  Each rack holds a few cases
of wine.  Can I keep with this system?  If so, what is the easiest way
to tell your software where it is?  Can I assign a barcode to each
rack and simply scan it when I add the bottle?

A: The easiest here would probably be to enter your location in the "Location" field. This one field applies to the entire record.
The other option is to make your racks 12 rows high - then when adding a wine you can allocate the entire case at once by double clicking the column heading.
