I was on the "Add Wine to Cellar" tab on the left and "Winery Website" tab on the right. The program would try and connect to the winery website and a "Connecting..." message would flash.  When it timed-out, troubleshooting instructions were displaced in this tab window and talked about disabling firewall, zone labs, etc, but didn't say anything about IE.  In my judgement, the IE requirement should be the first tip displayed in the window.

Thanks for your desire for continuous improvement.

Thanks for letting me know you are now OK

We list under "System requirements" that you need "Internet Explorer version 5 or later"
Where were you looking for the troubleshooting guide and we will add a note there also

Loading IE solved this problem.  I wish that the troubleshooting guide stated that IE was a requirement.  It would have saved me a lot of time.

It sounds like you do not have Internet Explorer installed on your PC

Internet explorer must be installed even if you do not use it as your browser.

The Uncorked Cellar uses it for web access.
You can download Internet Explorer by going to http://www.microsoft.com and selecting the download tab

I have loaded Uncorked on my home desktop and successfully registered the full mode system.  When the system tries to access the wine website from the wine website tab, I get a "Connecting..." message and finally the troubleshooting message when it times out. When I click on the globe in the top left of the tabbed area, I get an error message that says "cannot connect to web client", but the wine website is started up in Safari.  I have Windows XP SP3, Norton Security Suite, and Zone Labs Integrity Client.  I have tried all the troubleshooting techniques suggested and even disables Zone Labs and all Norton Internet checking for a period and when I restart Uncorked, the program fails to connect to the internet.  I am considering trying using my work PC, but don't really want to have my wine list stored there.  Do you have any other suggestions for me to try?
