The "temporary cellar" logic holds true and is very effective if applied logically and in an optimized way.  Smiley

3. The location field is treated as a text field  - it is a default user field intended to allow notation oof an entire record to indicate (for example) that this entire record of wines is held offsite.

Although you can use the location field for very simple record-level location notation for very simple location data, the virtual rack provides a much better solution.

The easiest way to perform an inventory check is to save your cellar to a temporary cellar, then scan the tag on ech of your wines, "uncorking" that wine from the temporary cellar

I have added the suggestion to add a check for duplicate tag and location

3) build in smart logic so that sorts by location don't read 1, 10,11,12...

1) Inventory check mode - scan every tag to check that the cellar is up to date and the bottles in the correct location. I have just done it using Excel but comparing tag numbers is error prone.

2) warnings for duplicates of tag number or location

In the process of the Inventory check and corrections for lost/relocated bottles, I would have welcomed warnings that corrections I thought I was making were creating other errors!
